Winchester Youth Baseball League is now taking signups for the 2009 season, including Cal Ripken, Babe Ruth, developmental tee-ball and coach pitch. Also in 2009 WYBL will be offering play with the newly formed Central Kentucky Baseball Club.
Sign ups for all levels will be taken at the WYBL Baseball Academy in the Yeiser Industrial Park, phone 745-7775.
Level description:
Developmental tee-ball for ages 4 – 6. Cost $50.00. Play will be at Christview Christian Church & the main focus will be to teach and develop the basic skills of the game including throwing, catching, fielding & hitting. Practice & game schedules will be developed at a later date.
Developmental coach-pitch – for ages 6 – 8. Cost $65.00. Play will be in the Mt. Sterling parks league & Christview Christian Church in Winchester. The main focus is to continue to develop the basic skills & begin teaching the technical aspects of the game including rules, offense & defense.
Camps at the WYBL Baseball Academy for the developmental levels will be conducted in March and April.

Cal Ripken 9/10 & 11/12. Cost $65.00. Play will be in the Mt. Sterling parks & recreation league & Massey Park in Winchester.
Babe Ruth 13/14/15 year old. Cost $65.00. Play will be in the Mt. Sterling parks & recreation league & at Community Park in Winchester.
Central Kentucky Baseball Club – for ages 9 – 18. The CKBC has been formed to allow a higher level of play for players to improve their baseball skills within an organization that will continue to support them as young adults. Cost if selected will be $200 at the commitment meeting, $200 due before & the first game. There will also be a required involvement in this program or a $100 non-participation fee also due before the first game. The fees will cover club expenses, tournament entry fees and uniforms. Play for the Central Kentucky Baseball Club will include games with other area select teams, regional tournaments and the possibility of tournaments involving over night stays. The exact schedule will be developed at a later date. All players on an active Central Kentucky Baseball Club roster will have a one year full access membership to the WYBL Academy as long as the facility has not been rented out. NO PLAYER MAY PARTICPATE IN BOTH CAL RIPKEN / BABE RUTH & THE CENTRAL KENTUCKY BASEBALL CLUB.
A BIRTH CERTICATE IS REQUIRED FOR ALL LEVELS OF PLAY WITHIN THE WINCHESTER YOUTH BASEBALL LEAGUE.
